It was unique among the Belgian Christmas beers in that instead of the usual herbs and spices this beer relies on Belgian chocolate and coffee.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eKeen to capitalise on year-round marketability of this beer, we have the updated label with that same delicious beer inside.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAs you’d expect, the beer is really rich and full-bodied.  Sweet malts, creamy chocolate, dark stone fruits, hints of red wine, molasses and vanilla, with a pleasant layer of coffee present throughout.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere is a bitterness with a little spicy finish to the beer, and a slightly astringent bitterness from the coffee.  The aftertaste is long, rich and warming, as typifies such a decadent beer.  ABV is hidden well in all those lush flavours.
