Krusovice is one of the oldest traditional Czech beer brands.
The roots stretch back to the early 16th century. The oldest preserved written document mentioning the brewery, which is still used today, is from 1581.
Krušovice is the only Czech beer brand that was ever owned by the Czech royal family. It remained in the property of the crown for 100 years and is still the official beer served in the Prague castle.

The Royal Brewery of Krusovice was established in 1581, and is one of the Czech Republic’s top five breweries. Based near Prague, their Imperial Lager was the gold medal winner at the 2006 World Beer Cup. Its Cerne brand was named the World’s Best Dark Lager at the 2009 World Beer Awards, and is the Czech Republic’s No. 1 exported Dark Lager.
Krusovice is one of the few Czech beers to remain unpasteurized for export, so a pint of it drunk here is the same as a pint drunk in Prague.
