Wild Turkey 101
Matured for eight years (considered the optimum period for bourbon) in new charred oak barrels, this is the original Wild Turkey style as made by the companies founders, the Ripy Family. The Ripy house style was selected out of 400 to represent Kentucky at the World Fair in 1893.
Tasting note: Nose of sweet corn and charred American oak. Exceptionally soft, but rich aroma for a high proof bourbon. Its taste is powerful. Deep, complex, honeyed, vanillan palate – rich with caramel, vanilla and notes of honey and brown sugar. Clean warm spirit, finishing long with caramel and woody sweetness.
