Pogues Irish Whiskey 3yo
The Pogues Irish Whiskey is the official whiskey made in collaboration with the band themselves; The Pogues Irish Whiskey is loaded with a lot of character, much like the band itself. Strong malt, citrus and cracked black pepper greet you on the nose which carries onto the palate, joining a sweetness laced with nutmeg.
Band-branded alcohol releases aren’t typically the best reason for a discerning drinker to get excited, but this whisky is different. The Pogues Irish Whiskey is a 50/50 blend of single malt and grain whiskies and is distilled at the West Cork Distillery in Skibbereen, the cultural home of Irish whiskey.
Fronted by singer Shane MacGowan, The Pogues are a Celtic (irish and English) punk band from London who formed in 1982. The band reached international prominence in the 1980s, but are perhaps best known for their classic Christmas duet, Fairytale in New York, with Kirsty MacColl, oh and streams of whiskey of course which is printed on the bottle!
